Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (MSK Ultrasound)
Musculoskeletal ultrasound, also called MSK ultrasound, is a real-time imaging tool that allows our therapists to visualize muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, and soft tissues with a high level of detail. It is a safe, non-invasive, and radiation-free diagnostic technique that helps us better understand what is happening beneath the surface.
By incorporating MSK ultrasound into our practice, Arlington PT is able to provide a more accurate diagnosis, track healing progress, and guide treatment decisions with greater confidence, all without sending you to an outside imaging facility.

How MSK Ultrasound Works
A small handheld device called a transducer is placed on the skin over the area being examined. It emits high-frequency sound waves that bounce off internal structures and create a live image on a screen. Your therapist can see the affected tissue in real time, assess for abnormalities, and even use the images to guide specific treatments.
